about

Min levnads afton (eng. The Eve of My Life) is an old Swedish tune that I learnt from Jon Sirén some 15 years ago. It has long been one of my favourite tunes to play by myself, and it is slow enough that learning it on the neod was feasible at the time.

In February, when this tune was recorded, I had just finished preparing a piece with live electronics, so I connected the neod to that same system. Out came ghostly fragments, voices of generations past, quite fitting with the title of the tune.

It brings to mind Karin Boye's wonderful poem "Till en okänd efterkommande":

- Karin Boye
